Coach vs. Mentor
Often the terms 'coach' and 'mentor' are used interchangeably; however, the terms have different meanings and vary in their approach to assisting clients.
What is Coaching?
The International Coaching Federation (ICF) defines coaching as a partnership with clients within a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires clients to maximize their personal and professional potential. It is a collaborative relationship where the coach works alongside the client to achieve their goals, develop strategies for overcoming obstacles, and unlock their strengths. Coaches guide and empower others through asking thought-provoking questions.

Mentors assist clients enhance their skills through support, guidance and the experience of others. Mentors provide step-by-step guidance based on their expertise and how they achieved their goals.
